Privacy Policy
ContourArc is a private body and progress tracker. Your body data — weight, measurements, notes, goals and progress photos — stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no server that stores it, and we never sell your data.
What stays only on your device
The following is stored locally on your iPhone and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else:
- Progress photos. Saved in the app's private storage, not in your camera roll. They are excluded from iCloud and computer device backups and are never sent off the device.
- Weight, body measurements, notes and goals. Kept in the app's on-device database.
- Apple Health data. If you turn on Health syncing, ContourArc reads and writes body-mass samples directly to Apple Health on your device. This data is governed by Apple Health and is never sent to us or used for advertising.
Data collected by our service providers
To keep the app stable and to understand how it is used, ContourArc includes a small number of standard third-party tools. These providers may collect limited, mostly technical data — never your weight, measurements, photos or Health data:
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — usage and event data (for example, which screens are opened), device and app information, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. Used to improve the app.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reports and diagnostic information (device model, OS version, app state at the time of a crash) so we can fix bugs.
- AppsFlyer — mobile measurement and attribution: device identifiers, IP address, and install and interaction events used to understand which marketing channel led you to install ContourArc.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription. It stores your purchase and subscription status tied to an anonymous app user ID.
- Apple — processes your subscription payment through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details.
Tracking and your choice
ContourArc asks for your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any tracking that uses the device advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, the advertising identifier is not used and no cross-app tracking takes place. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your iPhone.
How the collected data is used
- To keep the app working and to diagnose crashes and problems.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising (attribution).
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles about you, and we never sell your personal data.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can take a copy of everything at any time via Settings › Export my photos & data in the app — this saves every photo plus a spreadsheet (CSV) of your entries wherever you choose. You can erase everything via Settings › Delete all data, or by deleting the app.
Because your data lives only on your device, we cannot recover it for you if the app is deleted or the device is lost. Export regularly if you want a backup.
Data retention
On-device data remains until you delete it. Analytics, diagnostic and attribution data held by our service providers is retained according to their standard retention periods.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because your body data lives only on your device, you are already in direct control of it. For requests about data held by our service providers, contact us and we will help.
Children
ContourArc is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
